Anyone Else from Canada?
by Miss 8572 ini'm really intrigued by that fact that i may know some of you and yet not know that i know you.
i just want to know how many people from canada are here.
if you don't mind and don't care about posting your province (cause i'm too timid to) we could all get an idea of just how many canucks are really out there.

A great picture for proving that JWs aren't weird and cultish...
by cedars init's a shame this is only in the study edition, so the general public can't see how normal and down-to-earth the witnesses are in how they perceive themselves.... .
.
cedars.

Think About It
When I first came to this site I....
a) Thought the JW religion was still the truth
b) Had just left a horrible job situation, which caused me to put on weight
c) Had not had sex in a few years
Now....
a) I know TTATT, that the JW religion is a cult
b) I've got a new job making twice the money of my old job
c) I've lost the weight, and now sleep with a beautiful hot asian woman
Life is good.

IN HINDSIGHT.................
by Black Man innow that i've been away from the cult going on 4 years, one huge absurdity that sticks out in my mind is that we were doing things out of service to an invisible king.
let me repeat an invisible king, whose only proof that he existed was through a global public relations magazine distribution campaign.
no visible show of this king's sovreignty, no activity by this king to act on his campaign platform.

What absurdities stand out to you now that you've left the MADNESS??
How about.....that there is a small group of wacko JW's still alive that have convinced the other wacko JW's that they belong to a special group of wacko JW's numberng 144,000 who will go to heaven and rule over all wacko's that believe this wacky theology.

JW beliefs that are clearly not based on scripture
by JimmyPage inmustaches are okay, but beards are not.
suits and dresses are the only acceptable forms of clothing for worship.. .
how many times is the term "governing body" found in bible?

Not that I'm a Christian believer......but, the JW belief that Jesus is only the Mediator for the 144,000 is cultish.

How does the WT feel about dating methods?
by Christ Alone ini'm talking about dating methods that scientists use such as carbon 14, potassium-argon, rehydoxylation dating, etc.... .
i know that many christian fundamentalist groups speak of how false early dates can be reached by many of these dating systems.
but i was wondering how much the wt rejects them.

Timing of new "faithful & discreet slave class" teaching
by sir82 inthe following is pure, 100% speculation, but i think it's fun to do anyway..... .
as has been posted on numerous threads, the "biggie" coming out of the annual meeting this past weekend is that now the "faithful and discreet slave" is considered to be the jw governing body only - not "all anointed nes on earth".. and has been posted, it seems that the most recent direct statement of the "old light" - that the fds is composed of "all anointed" - was made in 2009.. so that makes me think - what happened between 2009 & 2012 to elicit such a change?.
both jack barr & ted jaracz - the last of the "old guard" - died in 2010.. the gb went from 9 members down to 7.. assuming that the "2/3 majority" rule as written about by ray franz was still in effect, this scenario seems plausible:.

This is one crazy cult. How can remaining JW's not see this and wake up? They are constantly changing their beliefs, and all the while claiming the end is at hand. Wouldn't the beliefs have to be in place at least for a few years without changing before the end would come? Any true Christian religion would be more founded in their beliefs. It' just ridiculous that they call themselves the truth and have changed beliefs so much that hardly anything by them when they suppose to have been chosen by God even is believed by them anymore. I've been out since 1995, and so much has changed doctrinally & organizationally that I just can't believe anyone still falls for the Governing Body's crap.

Help add to the list of things that convinced you Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs are flawed, that Governing Body are hypercritical, and deceiving >>>
by Butterflyleia85 insources to your claim will help with proof.... thanks.
these are a few i looked up and is just a rough note taking list so i didn't edit it and it's just done by basic looking through alot of articles and posts i've see:.
malawi-mexico contradiction... when a lot of the jehovah's witnesses were tortured and killed because the governing body forbade them to buy a card whereas the mexicans were allowed too.the real reason for the "donation arrangement"... property the wts owns in brooklyn heights alone would generate almost $10,000,000 (yes, ten million) in tax money each year for the city of new york-- that is if they had to pay taxes on it.

How about the Governing Body of JW's that claims to be God's F&DS, his Channel on earth, his Spirit directed Theocratic organization, yet they only come to agreement on doctrinal & organizational matters based on at least a 2/3's majority vote.
